Description

In this lab session, I went into the fundamentals of network connectivity by utilizing a hub. Within Packet Tracer, I introduced four PCs and a hub. The hub functioned as a central hub, facilitating the connection of devices. By employing copper straight-through cables, I linked each PC to the hub. Each PC was assigned a unique IP address, enabling data exchange within the network. It's important to acknowledge that hubs have become outdated and inefficient when compared to switches. In contemporary networks, switches are the preferred choice due to their ability to establish separate collision domains and enhance overall network performance. Nonetheless, this lab exercise laid the groundwork for comprehending hubs.
